What’s new

The Ai+ Nova 2 Power 5G is a new phone in Ai+’s Nova 2 series, launched in India in September 2026. Gizbot describes it as a battery-focused phone, built around a 7,000mAh battery, a 120Hz display and the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip. FoneArena says the battery is a first for an Ai+ phone. Full reviews are not out yet, so everything below is launch information and early hands-on impressions.

  • FoneArena and Gizbot report a 7,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. FoneArena says this is the first 7000mAh battery in an Ai+ phone.
  • 91mobiles and FoneArena both note the dual rear camera setup: a 48MP Sony IMX582 main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide. 91mobiles calls the ultra-wide uncommon for phones under Rs 20,000.
  • 91mobiles describes a rear camera island with a ring-shaped ‘NxtHalo Ambience Light’ that can be set to signal calls, notifications and charging status.
  • FoneArena and Gizbot list IP65 dust and splash resistance and a microSD slot that supports up to 1TB. Both also list a 3.5mm audio jack, though Smartprix’s feature list says there isn’t one.
  • Prices: FoneArena and Gizbot list Rs. 16,699 for 6GB + 128GB and Rs. 17,999 for 8GB + 128GB. Both mention a Rs. 15,999 launch offer on the base model. 91mobiles lists Rs 17,999 for the 6GB base model. Sales are on Flipkart, from 24 September at 12 PM according to FoneArena and Gizbot.

Early impressions

91mobiles: 91mobiles spent brief time with the Midnight Black unit and found the camera island and the configurable NxtHalo ring light distinctive. It says the finish shows a dark blue tint at an angle. At 222g, the phone felt noticeably hefty for long use. Scrolling and general interaction on the 120Hz screen felt fluid. It says a full review is coming.

FoneArena: FoneArena unboxed the 8GB + 128GB Midnight Black model and covered the box contents, ports and button layout. It describes the screen as bright, with a flat panel and a small punch-hole. It says the software has no bloatware, and that the glossy plastic back picks up fingerprints easily. It also took camera samples, but its write-up gives no verdict on them.

What reviews will need to show

  • How long the 7,000mAh battery lasts in daily use, and how long the 33W charger takes to fill it. Neither figure appears in the launch coverage.
  • Whether the Dimensity 7100 performs as well in full testing as 91mobiles’ early AnTuTu figure of around 7,50,000 suggests, since 91mobiles says it has not yet tested the phone in depth.
  • Whether the 720×1600 HD+ panel at 6.75 inches (about 256 ppi, per Smartprix) looks sharp enough, and whether the 450-nit brightness figure is enough outdoors.
  • What the camera setup produces in real use, including video: FoneArena and Gizbot list 2K 30fps recording, but Smartprix lists 1080p.
  • Whether the 3.5mm headphone jack is present, as FoneArena and Gizbot report and FoneArena’s unboxing shows, despite Smartprix’s feature list saying it is not.
