SimplyAmplifying doesn’t review gadgets ourselves. We read what trustworthy reviewers around the world found and turn it into one clear verdict, with every finding credited and linked to the outlet that made it.
Not every review counts the same
- Counts most: in-depth and long-term reviews where the writer actually used the product, especially when they tested and measured it.
- Counts less: first impressions and launch news.
- Counts least, or not at all: rewritten press releases, deal posts, rumours and sponsored content.
- Counts once: the same story copied across several sites.
If a site asks automated tools not to read its pages, we respect that. Those articles are labelled “headline only” in each page’s source list and count for very little.
Scores for what matters
Each kind of product is scored on what buyers care about: camera, battery and performance for phones; tracking accuracy for smartwatches; sound and noise cancelling for headphones. For every aspect, we read each outlet’s verdict, give more weight to outlets that tested and measured, and less to a passing remark. Every score is out of 10 and set to the same scale reviewers use, so a 9 here means what a 9 or a 4.5/5 means in a review. Where outlets publish their own overall scores, we list them on the page and they count towards ours.
Honest about confidence
A score built on one review isn’t the same as one built on ten. Every page shows how many independent outlets it’s based on and how confident we are. Thin evidence is clearly marked as an early verdict, and a category with too little evidence isn’t scored at all.
Always up to date
Pages update as new reviews are published, through the whole life of the product, and each page shows when it was last updated.
Our use of AI
We use AI to help read articles and draft pages. Scores follow consistent rules rather than an AI’s opinion, and every page is checked against what the reviewers actually said. A page that includes anything the reviews didn’t say is held back rather than published.
