The verdict

The reviews we read agree the Vivo T5x 5G’s main strength is battery endurance, backed by smooth everyday performance and a good daylight camera. The LCD display, heavy body and heavy-gaming limits hold it back. Evidence comes from a small number of in-depth reviews, so treat this as a medium-confidence verdict. It suits people who value battery life and a smooth interface over screen quality.

Best for: Buyers who want long battery life and smooth daily use, and who don’t mind a heavy phone.
Skip it if: You want a vivid, bright screen, a lighter phone, or smooth performance in demanding games like Genshin Impact.

In detail

Camera: 7.9/10

Beebom found daylight and dawn photos pleasing, with good cloud detail, but did not give a verdict on low light or zoom. MySmartPrice Gear tested the main, portrait and front cameras and liked the main camera most, though it said selfies could be better. Smartprix Bytes described the 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor as giving sharp daylight shots with natural colour, but noted noise and lost clarity in low light. That description was not based on formal testing. FoneArena only listed specs. Overall the camera looks good in good light, with less evidence for harder conditions.

Battery life: 9.4/10

Battery life is the clearest strength. Beebom got 9 hours of screen time in a week of gaming, photography and social use. Smartprix Bytes measured 10 hours screen-on with benchmarks, camera use and BGMI, and said lighter users can stretch it to two days. MySmartPrice Gear’s PCMark rundown lasted nearly 32 hours. Smartprix Bytes also noted bypass charging during gaming. FoneArena only cited capacity. The differences between outlets are small and mostly reflect how each one tested.

Performance: 7.9/10

Reviewers agree the Dimensity 7400 Turbo chip handles daily use smoothly. AnTuTu scores landed around 950,000 to 970,000 across Smartprix Bytes and MySmartPrice Gear. Beebom saw Call of Duty Mobile at 90 FPS on low settings and BGMI at 60 FPS, but found Genshin Impact choppy at 25 to 30 FPS, so it called the phone unsuitable for heavy gaming. Smartprix Bytes noted BGMI tops out at 60 fps, short of some rivals that reach 90 to 120 fps. FoneArena mainly repeated spec claims.

Display: 6.2/10

This is the weakest area. The outlets agree the screen is a 120Hz Full HD+ LCD. Beebom was the harshest, citing washed-out colours, weak blacks, poor viewing angles and poor sunlight visibility. MySmartPrice Gear measured a peak brightness of 921 nits, below the 1,200 nits claimed, and offered little further judgement. Smartprix Bytes was mixed: it noted the LCD panel and lower pixel density compared with an AMOLED sibling model, but said the resolution is sharper than a 720p rival. FoneArena only listed specs.

Software: 8.2/10

Beebom and Smartprix Bytes both like OriginOS 6, which is based on Android 16. Beebom saw no stutters or UI hiccups, and Smartprix Bytes found it cohesive, snappy and more responsive than the older Funtouch OS. Both flagged bloatware: Beebom mentioned excessive V-Appstore notifications, and Smartprix Bytes listed preinstalled apps such as Netflix, Facebook and Instagram. Smartprix Bytes noted the update promise is two years of OS updates and four years of security updates. FoneArena only listed specs, so two outlets support this section.

Charging: 6.9/10

Evidence here is thin. Smartprix Bytes is the only outlet that measured charging with the 44W wired charger: half a charge in 43 minutes and a full charge in about 91 minutes, which is average for the price. It also noted the charger comes in the box and listed reverse charging support. FoneArena only listed the 44W spec. None of the reviews we read mention wireless charging. Treat this as an early read rather than a settled view.

Design & build: 8.0/10

Reviewers agree on IP68/IP69 water and dust protection and a heavy 219g body. Smartprix Bytes was most positive, praising the marble-like quad-curved back, grippy frame, good ergonomics and fingerprint resistance. Beebom liked the well-placed side fingerprint scanner and the circular LED notification light, but called the phone quite heavy and found the buttons mushy, suggesting cost-cutting. MySmartPrice Gear’s only comment was that the bulk could hurt comfort over long use. FoneArena only listed specs.

Value: 7.4/10

Value evidence is the thinnest. Smartprix Bytes put the price at ₹27,099 in India and said that undercuts rivals, including a model at ₹39,980 and another at ₹31,175, but it compared prices without judging what buyers get. FoneArena listed Rs 18,999 in India for the base 6GB/128GB model and gave no value verdict. The two prices differ widely, so check the current price for your market before deciding.

How we put this together

We read the reviews and articles listed above and weigh each by how much it should count: in-depth, hands-on testing with measurements counts most; launch news and press-release rewrites count least; sponsored content is penalised. Category scores are our trust-weighted summary of what those sources found, set to the same 10-point scale reviewers use; the reviewers’ own scores, where published, are listed above. This page was compiled with AI assistance and checked against the source notes. All findings belong to the outlets credited above; follow the links to read their full reviews. How we score.
