Reviewers’ own scores: MySmartPrice Gear 7.6/10
The verdict
Reviewers agree the Realme 16 Pro+ has strong cameras, a bright display and battery life that comfortably lasts a day. Most think the price is hard to justify, because the chipset is unchanged from its predecessor and rivals offer more for the money. Confidence is medium: three outlets reviewed it in depth, and MySmartPrice Gear’s published score is 7.6/10.
Best for: Buyers who put cameras, battery life and a premium-feeling, water-resistant body first.

In detail
Camera: 8.7/10
NotebookCheck found the 200MP main camera sharp and detailed, even in low light, and said the 3.5x telephoto gives detailed zoom up to 10x. FoneArena saw well-exposed daylight shots, good periscope zoom that degrades beyond 30x, and crisp selfies. It called the 8MP ultra-wide underwhelming, and MySmartPrice Gear also rated that lens lowest of the ones it tested. Smartprix Bytes liked its low-light portraits and balanced white balance in hands-on use. Digit was positive on detail and colour but did not test low light or video. Beebom gave no verdict.
Battery life: 9.1/10
Outlets agree the 7,000mAh battery gets through a full day. NotebookCheck measured more than 23 hours in its WiFi test. FoneArena got 9 hours of screen-on time over two days at 144Hz, mostly on Wi-Fi with occasional 5G. MySmartPrice Gear’s PCMark test ran 18 hours 16 minutes, yet it summed up everyday use as only one day. Smartprix Bytes had 67% left after 14 hours of heavy use. Digit’s hands-on impression was that it easily lasts a heavy day, though it did not measure this. Beebom listed specs only.
Performance: 9.1/10
Every reviewer who judged speed found the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 fast and smooth. FoneArena saw no frame drops in COD, BGMI or Genshin Impact, with temperature rising from 32 to 41 degrees in its stress test. MySmartPrice Gear measured 88.3 FPS in BGMI but only 29.9 FPS in Genshin Impact on high settings. NotebookCheck found minimal throttling but a surface that heats significantly under long load, while Smartprix Bytes found it cool to the touch. Digit only judged everyday smoothness, not heavy gaming.
Display: 9.0/10
Outlets agree the display is bright and suits outdoor use. NotebookCheck measured 1,775 cd/m² and a 1.3ms response time. FoneArena reported 1800 nits outdoors and a 6500 nit HDR peak, and said 144Hz works only in stock apps, with 120Hz elsewhere. Digit measured 2,880 nits and praised the colours and curved panel. MySmartPrice Gear measured 1689 nits and rated the screen well. NotebookCheck is the outlier: it found a green tint in light greys, poor brown tones and PWM flicker at 90Hz, which may strain some eyes.
Software: 6.5/10
Evidence here is thin. Only NotebookCheck judged the software, and it criticised the update policy of three major Android updates and four years of security patches as below EU directives. Beebom lists four years of OS updates and six years of security updates, which conflicts with that. Smartprix Bytes only noted Android 16 with Realme UI 6 and AI Edit Genie 2.0. No outlet assessed bloat, bugs or day-to-day software polish, so treat this section as unsettled.
Charging: 7.3/10
Evidence is limited. FoneArena and Digit both confirm 80W wired charging. FoneArena also mentions a bypass charging mode for gaming that protects the battery, but gave no verdict on speed. Digit’s hands-on impression was that 80W feels adequate for the large 7,000mAh battery, a lukewarm but not negative view. Neither outlet gave measured charge times for this section or discussed wireless charging. Elsewhere, FoneArena’s battery testing found 50% in under 30 minutes and a full charge in under an hour.
Design & build: 8.5/10
Reviewers who judged the design are positive. Digit called the vegan leather finish mature and attractive and noted the phone stays slim despite the big battery, though it picks up pocket lint. NotebookCheck liked the pleasant silicone back and noted IP68/IP69 water resistance, but disliked the USB 2.0 port without wired video output and the missing microSD slot. FoneArena praised its IP69K resistance to high-pressure jets. MySmartPrice Gear said it looks premium and feels great in the hand.
Value: 5.8/10
Evidence is limited, but most outlets are critical. FoneArena called the Rs 39,999 price a costly upgrade because the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 carries over from its predecessor. Digit noted a sharp rise from Rs 32,000 for the previous model, though it said premium fundamentals were kept. The reviews we read quote these prices in rupees and give no other market. MySmartPrice Gear said rivals offer better performance and battery life, so it suits mainly those who value cameras and design. Smartprix Bytes disagreed, calling it competitive for its features.
