The verdict
Across 13 outlets, reviewers agree the Find X9 Ultra is a top-tier flagship led by its camera, with very good battery life and a bright, sharp display. In detail
Camera: 9.6/10
The camera is the clearest strength. TechRadar called it the best smartphone camera system it has tested, after more than 2,000 photos. Trusted Reviews praised rich main-sensor images and rare colour consistency across lenses. Android Authority’s side-by-side portrait tests put the main camera ahead of the Pixel 10 Pro XL for detail and exposure. DXOMARK ranked it third overall but gave it a top low-light result. Complaints are smaller: Android Authority found a weak ultrawide, oversaturated selfies and video transitions that pop, T3 noted processing delay and imprecise autofocus, and Digit saw faces occasionally over-brightened.
Battery life: 9.4/10
Most outlets found battery life very strong from the 7050mAh cell. NotebookCheck measured over 28 hours in its Wi-Fi test, and Digit’s PCMark run reached 17 hours 12 minutes. Android Police got three days of light use, and Trusted Reviews described multiple days. Heavy use tells a different story: Android Central measured about a day and a half, T3 had roughly 20% left at bedtime after gaming and high brightness, and 9to5Google saw the battery fall to 45% on four to six hours of screen time. Android Authority gave no endurance results.
Performance: 9.0/10
Speed is flagship-class with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Trusted Reviews recorded a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 11019, and 91mobiles said it was the first flagship to pass 4 million in AnTuTu in its lab. TechRadar confirmed top-notch results in benchmarks and games. Heat is the dividing line. 91mobiles, Android Police and T3 reported cool running, and Beebom saw warmth but no throttling. Android Authority measured 48°C under sustained load with variable performance after 10 minutes, and NotebookCheck found pronounced throttling, with less performance under load than the X8 Ultra.
Display: 9.2/10
Reviewers largely like the 6.82-inch 144Hz QHD+ LTPO AMOLED panel. Digit praised vivid colour and deep blacks, and 91mobiles called it as good as any screen on ultra-premium phones. Smartprix Bytes valued the colour, contrast and eye comfort from high-frequency PWM dimming. Brightness results differ. Digit measured 2,730 nits, while NotebookCheck and Android Police measured 1,800 nits. NotebookCheck was the main critic: it said the figure was half the advertised 3,600 nits, that brightness throttles quickly, that automatic brightness runs too dark, and that PWM dimming sits at 90Hz.
Software: 8.1/10
Opinion on ColorOS 16 is divided. TechRadar rated the software excellent after two weeks of use, Trusted Reviews called it Oppo’s slickest yet, 91mobiles found it the smoothest version so far, and Smartprix Bytes cited polished animations. Android Police reported broken notifications that mostly arrived after unlocking the phone, and 9to5Google noted the notification shade lacks Android gestures and a double-tap camera shortcut. Android Authority disliked the redesign and the bloatware. Update promises are reported inconsistently: Android Authority cites five OS updates, while Android Central says four.
Charging: 8.0/10
With Oppo’s own charger, wired charging is quick. Trusted Reviews measured a full charge in under 58 minutes, Smartprix Bytes about 55 minutes, and Digit 48 minutes. Beebom measured 10-50% in around 25 minutes. The 50W wireless charging was praised by 91mobiles as an advantage over rivals at this price, though 9to5Google noted it lacks Qi2. The catch is dependence on Oppo’s 100W standard: Android Police saw an Anker charger peak at 33W and dip to 17W, and Android Authority judged it slower than rivals that use universal USB PD PPS charging.
Design & build: 8.9/10
Build quality earns broad praise: a vegan-leather back, aluminium mid-frame and IP68 and IP69 protection. 9to5Google called it tank-like and worth the 235g weight, and Android Central liked the grip and weight distribution at 237g. Trusted Reviews and TechRadar flagged the thickness and weight, and NotebookCheck found it large and awkward without a case. Android Police found it top-heavy in portrait and said the camera glass scratched easily. Android Central reported accidental zoom and shutter presses from the camera button, and Smartprix Bytes said the camera module interferes with wireless chargers.
Value: 6.9/10
Only a few outlets gave a clear value verdict, so this is the thinnest area. Everyone treats it as expensive. Android Authority listed €1699 in Europe and £1449 in the UK, and compared that with US rivals at $1199 for the Pixel 10 Pro XL and $1299.99 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, calling the camera hardware a steep cost. Trusted Reviews, at £1449, called it a well-rounded flagship. NotebookCheck saw a complete camera package with no major weaknesses for the price, noting a €1,699 list price in Germany. 9to5Google said the phone would launch globally, including Europe but not the US.

How we put this together
We read the reviews and articles listed above and weigh each by how much it should count: in-depth, hands-on testing with measurements counts most; launch news and press-release rewrites count least; sponsored content is penalised. Category scores are our trust-weighted summary of what those sources found, set to the same 10-point scale reviewers use; the reviewers’ own scores, where published, are listed above. This page was compiled with AI assistance and checked against the source notes. All findings belong to the outlets credited above; follow the links to read their full reviews. How we score.
