The verdict
Reviewers largely agree the OnePlus Nord 6 is a long-lasting, fast, durable phone with a clean software experience. Its weak spots are an ultra-wide camera that struggles in low light, a heavy body, and heat under long gaming sessions. Value is the least settled area, with only a few outlets weighing in on price. It suits people who put battery life and speed first.
Best for: Buyers who want multi-day battery life, strong gaming performance and a durable, water-resistant body.
Skip it if: You want a compact, light phone, a telephoto lens, wireless charging, or the most camera flexibility.

In detail
Camera: 8.2/10
Outlets agree the 50MP main camera is strong in daylight and selfies are good. NotebookCheck found very sharp main photos with good exposure even in low light, and noted 4K video at up to 60fps. Digit and FoneArena praised daylight dynamic range, and FoneArena found 4x zoom good. The ultra-wide is the common weak point: Beebom, Digit and FoneArena all found it poor in low light, and Smartprix Bytes noted there is no telephoto and a smaller main sensor than the Nord 5. Android Central called overall performance inconsistent, while MySmartPrice Gear described consistent detail and natural colours.
Battery life: 9.8/10
Battery life is the strongest point in the reviews. Android Central reported two days of heavy use and three of light use. Digit recorded a PCMark result more than double the Nord 5’s and over 26 hours of YouTube streaming. Android Authority had 40% left after a full day and 60% after a 12-hour flight. Beebom and Smartprix Bytes also saw around two days or more. NotebookCheck was more measured, with over 23 hours of Wi-Fi runtime, and said the global version has a 7,500 mAh battery rather than the Chinese model’s 9,000 mAh. Other outlets cite 9,000 mAh, so check the exact model you are buying.
Performance: 9.2/10
Every outlet found the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 fast for its class. Digit measured around 158 frames per second in COD Mobile and BGMI and reported excellent sustained performance. Beebom held Genshin Impact at maximum settings at a steady 60fps for over an hour, with the phone only warm. Others were more cautious. NotebookCheck saw significant throttling after prolonged high load and a considerably hot casing. FoneArena noted noticeable heat in long gaming sessions, and MySmartPrice Gear’s throttling test held up less well. Android Central and Android Authority were positive but gave little heat data. Everyday use and short games look safe; marathon sessions are less certain.
Display: 9.1/10
Most outlets liked the 165Hz AMOLED screen. Digit measured peak brightness of 2,770 nits in auto mode and excellent colour accuracy, and Beebom and MySmartPrice Gear also found outdoor brightness strong. Smartprix Bytes noted vibrant colours and a high PWM rate. NotebookCheck was the dissenter: its centre brightness measurement of 1,159 cd/m² was lower than rivals, and it detected low-frequency PWM flicker that could cause eyestrain for sensitive users. Android Central found the display smooth with good contrast but pointed out that 165Hz only works in select games. Quoted peak brightness figures vary widely between outlets.
Software: 9.2/10
Outlets were positive about OxygenOS 16, which runs on Android 16. Digit called it clean and bloat-free with excellent fluency. Smartprix Bytes found it fast, fluid and customizable, with AI tools including the Plus Mind hub, though it noted a few removed touches such as the always-on display transition and blur effects. FoneArena highlighted Plus Mind and the customizable Plus Key. Smartprix Bytes, Digit and FoneArena all noted the promise of four Android updates and six years of security updates. Android Central was briefer, calling the interface clean with customization options and giving no update details.
Charging: 8.4/10
Reviewers found 80W wired charging quick for such a large battery. NotebookCheck measured a full charge in around an hour, and FoneArena saw 50% in about 35 minutes. Digit reported 60 to 65 minutes for a full charge, while Smartprix Bytes and Beebom measured about 1 hour 15 minutes. Android Authority said a 15-minute top-up gives about 40%. Android Central put a full charge at just over 70 minutes. Reverse charging at 27W was seen as a bonus, though Smartprix Bytes found it slows to about 10W. NotebookCheck flagged the lack of wireless charging.
Design & build: 8.7/10
Durability is the clear positive: outlets cited IP68 and IP69 ratings, with Digit, Beebom and Smartprix Bytes also noting further IP and MIL-STD-810H protection. At 217g and 8.5mm, Digit, Beebom and Android Central found the weight well balanced, and Android Authority felt the extra heft was a fair trade against carrying a power bank. Opinions on bulk differ: 91mobiles and MySmartPrice Gear found it large and less comfortable in long use. Android Central called the look bland next to the all-metal Nord 4, and Smartprix Bytes noted a polycarbonate frame. Several outlets gave little build detail, so confidence here is moderate.
Value: 7.0/10
Evidence on value is thin, so treat this as an early read. 91mobiles listed the price at Rs 46,999 in India and noted it undercuts the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, without a wider verdict. MySmartPrice Gear called it a functional balance of performance and endurance with few trade-offs outside ergonomics. Android Authority argued the extra weight and thickness are justified by the multi-day battery. Smartprix Bytes was more critical, calling the price steep, saying the POCO X8 Pro Max and iQOO 15R offer better value, and noting offline stores in India charging above the listed price. Check local pricing before buying.
