What’s new

The Samsung Galaxy A08 is a budget 4G phone in the A series. FoneArena describes it as the successor to the Galaxy A07, and Beebom says Samsung quietly listed it on its Ukraine, Serbia and Bosnia sites in mid-September 2026. It stands out for its 6000mAh battery, IP64 rating and a promise of six years of OS and security updates, which FoneArena reports Samsung has confirmed. Coverage disagrees on memory, storage, software version and chipset name, so those details are unconfirmed.

  • FoneArena (15 September) reports a 6000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, and says no charger comes in the box.
  • FoneArena reports Samsung has confirmed 6 generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. Beebom calls this a surprisingly long support period for a budget phone.
  • Beebom reports a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Both it and FoneArena list an IP64 rating for dust and splash protection.
  • On price, Digit reports Rs 18,499 in India for a single 4GB + 64GB variant. FoneArena and Beebom report 10,699 Ukrainian hryvnia (about Rs 23,000) for 4GB + 128GB in Ukraine.
  • Beebom says Samsung has not yet given prices for Serbia and Bosnia. FoneArena says the phone is on sale in Ukraine and listed in Serbia and South Africa, and expects a wider rollout.

What reviews will need to show

  • Which memory and storage the phone actually ships with. FoneArena and Beebom list 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, while Digit lists 4GB with 64GB for India. FoneArena says LPDDR4X RAM and Beebom says LPDDR5X.
  • Which chipset is inside. FoneArena names the Helio G99, Digit says Helio G99+, and Beebom says Samsung hasn’t named it and cites leaks pointing to the G99. Everyday speed will need testing.
  • Which software it launches with. FoneArena and Beebom say Android 16 with One UI 8, but Digit says One UI 9. Reviews should also confirm that the six-year update promise applies in every market.
  • Whether the 6000mAh battery with 25W charging gives good battery life, and how long a charge takes without a charger in the box.
  • How the HD+ 90 Hz LCD and the 50MP main camera hold up in everyday use, and how pricing compares across markets given the different prices reported.
